What does it take to get your web site up and running?
Here are the steps we can take together to make the process easy and efficient.
First, we need input from you. We will talk about
the general goals for your web site and identify any specific ideas you have about how it will look. What kind
of information will you provide on the web site? Who are your customers? Together we can determine the kind of
technology that makes sense. For example, are your customers likely to have the latest computer equipment and want
lots of action on the screen? Or do they have older systems and want a site that gives them "just the facts"?
What information, products and/or services do you want to describe? Do you have brochures or other copy that can
be used or do you need that developed?
What company image do you want to portray? For example,
a bed and breakfast might want to be viewed as a romantic getaway, or perhaps it wants to appeal to guests who
love to be active and outdoors. It may want to cater to families or only to couples.
Do you have an idea about colors, themes or logos?
What kinds of pictures will you display? Do you need them to be scanned in or are they already in digital form?
Would you like to link to your main suppliers or to other related web sites? For example, if you install windows
and doors you might want to point to the web sites of particular window and door manufactures.
Once we understand the kind of web site you need, we will do a quick prototype to show you the general layout,
colors, etc. After you review it we will let you know when your site will be complete and ready for publishing
to the web.
We can also help you to understand how to promote your web site and will add appropriate keyword code to your site
to enable the search engines to find it easily. Then you will need to register your site with the search engines.
We can do this for you or tell you how to do it yourself if you wish. We can research other sites that might link
to your site and set up those links for you.
You will need a place to "host" your site. A host is a computer that is on the Internet and is where
your site will physically be kept. The host can reside at a hosting company of your choice or you can leave your
site with us under nlbwebweavers.com (www.nlbwebweavers.com/your_company_name).
If you need to have your site updated on a regular basis, we can do that for you as well. We can also handle "as
needed" updates.
Although these are the general steps that everyone will need to take, we are pretty flexible and willing to do
whatever needs to be done to make your experience in getting up and running on the web not only easy, but exciting
and educational as well.
